Photography Challenge: Week 1 Early Efforts

Hi, as you read the other day, I am partaking in the Dogwood Photograph 52 Week Photography Challenge.  The first week’s challenge involves a self-portrait that tells a story about you without showing your face.  Seeing as photography is an art, I decided to take my own interpretation of the week’s category.  With that being said, my idea was to shoot an environmental portrait that doesn’t feature me directly.

I decided to show my world, so to speak.  Where I live, work, hangout.  Stuff like that.  So, here is what I’ve got so far.  One of these might be what I go with for the challenge.  I still might find something else.   Feel free to let me know what you think.

52 Week Photo Challenge

This year I stumbled upon a Facebook Group that offers a 52 week challenge to photographers.  When I say “stumbled upon” I mean that I found a Lifehacker post about it on Facebook.  This challenge, presented by Dogwood Photography, offers weekly themes for photographers to work their craft.  Participants submit one photo weekly based on the presented criteria.

The first week is something I’ve sort of done in the past.  The challenge asks photographers to compose a self portrait that tells who you are without actually showing your face.  When taking classes, I did something similar to this, but not for myself.  I can’t wait to jump in and do this.  I’ve got some ideas rolling around in my head already.

I feel like I’ve drifted away from the craft this year.  I hope being involved with this will renew my drive to see the world in unique ways.  If this challenge interests you, I recommend checking it out.  The full list of weekly challenges can be found here.   The Facebook Group with the rules can be found here.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

Mit Liebe Pet Expo 2018

We took some photos at the Mit Liebe Family Pet Expo this past weekend.  Congrats to Mit Liebe on 20 years of finding homes for German Shepherds.  I know there’s a four legged boy sitting on the couch next to me that very much appreciates everything you do.

We had to switch things up midway through the day due to some technical difficulties.  Thanks for your donations to Mit Liebe.  Here is the full album:  Mit Liebe Pet Expo Photos.

Here’s a few to look at now.

My First Packers Training Camp of 2018

I visited Packers Training Camp for the first time this past Saturday (July 28).  I go and watch several practices every year.  While there, I make sure to snap some pics of the players.  There’s a lot of excitement about the Green Bay Packers going into the new season.  Will Aaron Rodgers bring us back to glory?   Time will tell.

MIT LIEBE PHOTOS W/SANTA 2018

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Mit Liebe Christmas event!  Special thanks to those who made donations to have their pictures with Santa.  We raised just about $250 for the Mit Liebe German Shepherd Rescue.  That’s amazing.  You can find the full album in the link below.  Feel free to email me with any questions.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Packers Training Camp

It is that time of year in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  The green and gold clothing comes out of storage.  The kids are getting up early to drive to the stadium with their bikes.  Thousands gather at Ray Nitschke Field.  Yep, it is Green Bay Packers training camp.

I had the honor and privilege to be there for the first two days with my camera in hand.  Here are a whole bunch of my favorites that I shot on both days.  You’ll see your favorite Packers such as Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, Dvante Adams, and many more.  Let me know what you think.
